Safeguarding / Whistleblowing / Diversity and Inclusion

The Blackburn Northern Management Committee feels it is an appropriate time to highlight the Safeguarding processes and procedures that the club has in place.

We are guided by the LTA :  Click on their "Venue Safeguarding Policy Statement"  for more information.

Sue Lawson (07920 055238) is the Club Welfare Officer and is a member of the management committee.  Sue is an LTA accredited welfare officer.

At the present time only two sections: tennis and hockey offer junior coaching and play.

Tennis: the coaches are LTA accredited which ensures appropriate training and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks are in place.

Hockey: a qualified Level 2 coach oversees junior training and those working alongside him have been DBS checked. Hannah Laverty is the welfare officer for the ladies' and men's section.

Anyone who has a concern with regards to the well-being of a child should contact the Club Welfare Officer (07920 055238) or e-mail : welfareofficer@blackburnnorthern.co.uk.

However please note that the key BNSC policies below extend to all ages and are in place to ensure everyone at the Club is treated in a fair and reasonable manner and to ensure that any breaches of the Code of Conduct will be reported earliest and dealt with accordingly.
