In Memoriam

It is with deep regret that the Club announces that John Bolton ( Johnny B ) died in hospital on May 3rd, after a short illness.   He was 81.

John was probably the longest active member of the club.    In the early 1940's he accompanied his mother, Connie, to help with cricket teas.

John went on to play both tennis and table tennis for Blackburn Northern.

When the Club was extended under Arthur Shaw's guidance, he helped with joinery work.

More recently John undertook bar work and came in on a Tuesday evening for a drink and to share his wisdom.

He was one of the nicest men you could ever wish to meet and will be missed by all at Northern.

The funeral arrangements are as follows:

Monday May 21st

Funeral Service at 12.30 at St Gabriel's Church, Brownhill Drive, Blackburn followed by a burial service at 1.30 at Pleasington Cemetery later returning to the Members' Lounge at Blackburn Northern.
